Biography
The Intruder is a genre-bending comedic take on the modern grindcore and death metal scene, often refusing to indulge in extended breakdowns or soloing. Many of their songs clock in at less than 2 minutes, rewarding multiple listens with their frantic and offbeat "math-metal" compositions, jazz interludes and a consistently off-the-wall lyrical style.
Formed in 2002, The Intruder is a four-man group based in Westerly, RI, consisting of vocalist Mike Bucchino, guitarist Mike Manuel, bassist Josh Taber and drummer Matt Pasetti. An overly self-critical songwriting and recording style marred the release of both fully completed studio EP's and led to an inevitable breakup in early 2007. An interest to widely release the studio recordings along with various live tracks still exists; one may wonder if The Intruder might yet incur posthumous acclaim.
